9th & 10th Grade IB Students
Classes are taught by IB-trained teachers to help prepare students for the college-level courses they will take in 11th and 12th grade. Students will learn how to write, study, and think critically, helping them to become successful when they move into an IB Programme.
Recommended Course Selection for Rising 9th Grade Students:
English: English I Advanced Honors
Math: Algebra I Advanced Honors (or higher, according to prior Math class)
Science: Biology I Advanced Honors
History: Advanced Placement (AP) Human Geography *College-level course
Foreign Language: Spanish I Advanced Honors, French I Advanced Honors, or Latin I Advanced Honors
Arts/Electives: Art I, Band or Choir, Theater I, Physical Education/Health & Wellness
Recommended Course Selection for Rising 10th Grade Students:
English: English II Advanced Honors
Math: Geometry Advanced Honors
(If you've already completed Geometry, AP Statistics is recommended AND Algebra 2 is highly suggested)
Science: Chemistry Advanced Honors
History: Advanced Placement (AP) United States History *College-level course
Foreign Language: Spanish II Advanced Honors, French II Advanced Honors, or Latin II Advanced Honors
Computer Science
Arts/Electives: Art II, Band or Choir, Theater II, Personal Finance, Drivers Education
