School Profile

Oakland High School Vision

The faculty and staff at Oakland High School are committed to graduating internationally minded individuals. Students are offered a varied curriculum to achieve National and State Standards in a safe learning environment. We will provide and support a variety of student activities in the arts, sports, and club memberships. In order to implement our shared vision, we will provide opportunities to reach students at all levels through the following programs:

Career and Technical Education: a skill-based curriculum in which students will develop a trade that will prepare them for real life experiences.
Dual-enrollment: a program that allows students to obtain college credit while attending high school.
Freshmen and Sophomore Academies: groupings designed to raise graduation rate by focusing on at-risk students in smaller classroom numbers.
International Baccalaureate (IB): Diploma program that rigorously focuses on education on an international level through encouraging students to be active learners, well-rounded individuals and engaged world citizens.
