ACADEMICS

  • Students of the week - Cameron Clark and Alexys Haskins
  • Hoopsters of the Week:  Maggie Knowles and Keishawn Davidson
  • Current juniors with a 2.75 GPA or higher with a strong interest in leadership development and community service are encouraged to apply for Youth Leadership Rutherford.  This very competitive program requires a weekend orientation and seven seminar days addressing issues of concern for Rutherford County.Program cost is $215 which covers meals, transportation and materials.  Commitment to complete the program is required if selected.  Applications are available on the OHS website or at the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce website.  Completed applications are due to the Chamber of Commerce by Monday, February 26.  See your counselor if you have questions.

 

ACTIVITIES AND CLUBS

  • Applications are now being accepted for the 2018-2019 OHS Yearbook Staff! They are looking for students with an interest in photography, design, writing or reporting, and business. Students who have school spirit and want to serve the students of Oakland High School by creating an awesome written and visual record of their school year. Applications for Yearbook Staff are available in the Annex Office, Guidance Office, and from Mrs. Snow in G6. Yearbook staff is open to all students.  Application materials deadline has been extended to Friday, February 23rd to Mrs. Snow in G-5/6
  • Yearbooks are still on sale online, by phone, mail, or from Mrs. Snow here at school. Yearbooks are $85.00 while supplies last. During the month of February only, you can get a $5.00 discount on your yearbook by bringing your payment to Mrs. Snow in G6 to order your yearbook. Yearbooks arrive for distribution at the beginning of May. Don’t miss out on receiving yours, order early. Supplies are limited, and all yearbooks are sold on a first come first serve basis.

FINE ARTS

 

SPORTS

  • Trap Team practice is cancelled this week-end due to impending weather.
  • Girls Basketball will travel to Coffee County High School to play in the Regional game today. Tip off is 7:00 pm.
  • Boys Basketball team will travel to Columbia High School on Saturday for their 7:00 PM game.
  • Congratulations to Branson Boone for his 5th place at the Wrestling State Tournament in the 220lb Division.
  • Congrats to Faith Adams for selection of All 7-AAA District Basketball Team.
  • Congratulations to Keyshawn Davidson for receiving 7-AAA All District Team and All District Tournament Team. Keyshawn also joined the 1,000 point club!

 

SENIORS

  • Make sure you order your yearbook as soon as possible to reserve your copy. You may order online or by phone from Balfour smartpay, or you may order at school from Mrs. Snow in G6. Copies will be limited starting at the beginning of February.
