Oakland senior and two-way athlete Craig Tutt was named a runner-up for the TSSAA Division I Class 6A Mr. Football Award today at Nissan Stadium.

Tutt finished behind Southwind’s Kelvin Perkins, who won the award, and joined  Antioch’s Andre Adams as one of the finalists recognized.

On Saturday, Tutt helped lead Oakland to its sixth state championship in the last eight years with a win over Ravenwood High School in the Class 6A TSSAA BlueCross Bowl.

Tutt is ranked the eighth-best player in Tennessee and is a four-star prospect according to 247Sports. He is currently committed to play football at Ole Miss.

Tutt was also named a runner-up at last year’s Mr. Football Awards. Riverdale’s Braden Graham and Oakland’s Duane Morris were both named runner-up finalists in 2023.

The most recent RCS student to win Mr. Football was in 2022, when Smyrna linebacker — and current Tennessee Volunteers linebacker — Arion Carter was crowned Class 6A Mr. Football.

The Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Awards recognize the top football players in nine classifications of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association.

A committee of statewide sports writers selected winners based on performance in the 2025 regular season. Academics and character were also taken into consideration.

High school head coaches and members of the media nominated the finalists.

Taylor Zarzour, play-by-play voice of the Tennessee Titans, emceed the awards presentation while Titans linebacker Cody Barton awarded the trophies.
