Oakland junior and two-way athlete Craig Tutt was named TSSAA Division I Class 6A Mr. Football runner-up today at Nissan Stadium.

On Saturday, Tutt led Oakland to its fifth state championship in the last seven years with a win over Houston High School in a rematch of the 2023 6A TSSAA BlueCross Bowl.

Tutt is ranked the fourth-best player in Tennessee and is a four-star prospect according to 247Sports. He is currently uncommitted in the 2026 class with scholarship offers from over 25 universities.

The most recent RCS student to be named Mr. Football was in 2022 when Smyrna linebacker — and current Tennessee Volunteers linebacker — Arion Carter was crowned Class 6A Mr. Football.

Riverdale’s Braden Graham and Oakland’s Duane Morris were both named runners-up at last year's ceremony.

The Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Awards were presented to the top football players in nine classifications of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association.

A committee of statewide sports writers selected winners based on performance in the 2024 regular season. Academics and character were also taken into consideration. High school head coaches and members of the media nominated the finalists.

Mike Keith, play-by-play voice of the Tennessee Titans, emceed the awards presentation. Titans wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine presented the awards to the athletes.
