Students will be permitted to use notes and dictionaries that are in the binder for both portions of the test, but student may not use their own notes. The test itself is worth 60% of the midterm exam grade.
EXAM PROJECT 1:
Students are required to make a handwritten summary of the story of Aeneas from Jenney1 Ch.1-14. This summary should be broken down by chapter with bullet points for each of the major events that happen in each chapter. This project will be assessed for its organization, neatness, and thoroughness of explanation of characters and events. This project is worth 20% of the midterm exam grade.
EXAM PROJECT 2:
Students are required to make a handwritten summary of all grammar notes from First Semester. Page limit is four 8.5"x11" pieces of paper front and back (or eight book pages). This project will be assessed for its organization, neatness, and thoroughness of explanation of grammar topics. This project is worth 20% of the midterm exam grade and will be used to determine if a student qualifies for a possible curve on his/her midterm exam test score.
Grammar topics include: action verbs; verb infinitive mood; linking verbs; noun declensions 1-3; noun cases (nominative, genitive, dative, accusative, ablative, vocative) and noun functions (subject, predicate nominative, possessive, direct object, object of preposition, indirect object); adjectives; verb imperative mood.
Midterm Projects are due on the day of the Midterm. Students may request to have projects reviewed (not graded) before the due date.
