Intro to Teaching as a Profession (Intro to TAP)
Course Description
Intro to Teaching as a Profession is a foundational course in the Education and Training career cluster for
students interested in learning more about becoming a school counselor, teacher (all levels), librarian, or
educational support staff. Upon completion of this course, proficient students will gain
knowledge in the history of education in the United States, careers in education, the influence of
human development on learning as well as brain development, learning systems, and 21st century skills. Artifacts will be created for inclusion in a portfolio, which will
continue throughout the full sequence of courses.
