Here is the Summer reading list for students to prepare for English II. There will be an assignment that goes along with the novel (usually writing) when students return to school.

TKAM Testimony Sheet
Here is an assignment designed to help you analyze and understand the trial in "To Kill a Mockingbird". You can either type right on it or print it out. Let me know if you have any questions. This part of the book is so good!

Use to Revise Essay
1.First body paragraph- count how many words in each sentence. Are they about the same length? If so, you probably don’t have enough sentence variety. How can you revise it to make more interesting for your reader?
2.Word choice- check for words like “good”, “bad”, “things”, and “stuff”. These are very vague. Highlight each instance of vague wording. Then you need to replace those words with clearer choices.
3.Colon/Semi-colon – did you use one correctly?
4. Did you stay 3rd person throughout?
