Virtual Learning May 11-15

1. Rutherford County Learning Plan:  NEW!!! 
Each week we are out, RCS will post a new, weekly assignment to help you read, analyze, and apply the standards we've learned this year. Each one includes the text, questions, and a discussion/essay topic. 
NEW: Each school will use the text differently! If you have questions about it, email me. 
 
 
2. Guided Support for the Rutherford County Learning Plan: 
Here is a Power-Point reviewing some of the basics you will need to fully understand and complete the Rutherford County Learning Plan ELA activity this week. It is meant to guide you through the lesson and better explain what to do. It is on YouTube which allows you to pause and rewind as often as needed.

PARENTS: each one also includes a section titled "Expected Outcomes". This is for you/your child to use to check question answers.

Use to Revise Essay

1.First body paragraph- count how many words in each sentence. Are they about the same length? If so, you probably don’t have enough sentence variety. How can you revise it to make more interesting for your reader?

2.Word choice- check for words like “good”, “bad”, “things”, and “stuff”. These are very vague. Highlight each instance of vague wording. Then you need to replace those words with clearer choices.

3.Colon/Semi-colon – did you use one correctly?

4. Did you stay 3rd person throughout?
